HIGHLAND DITCH – FINALLY AGREEMENT SIGNED — The Lyons Board of Trustees 8/7/23 discussed a contract regarding crossing agreements and fees to Highland Ditch Co. for the St Vrain Trail Extension project. The BOT agreed to a contract with a not to exceed amount of $20k. During general business, the BOT received an update from staff about undergrounding the electric utility lines along Broadway, in tandem with the Broadway improvements projectTOWN BUDGET: Submit your budget request by August 31st. === 2024 BUDGET PREPARATION INPUT The Town of Lyons is approaching 10 years since the 2013 flood event and recovery has nearly wrapped up. In that spirit, the Board of Trustees seek resident/citizen input for the upcoming 2024 budget. Please share items and ideas that you would like the Board of Trustees to consider for the 2024 budget, via the online input FORM.LIQUOR LICENSE: Moxie’s Bread has applied for a transfer of its liquor license to its new location at 5th and High Street. Lyons BIKE LANES UPDATE: I just confirmed this week with the CDOT representative that construction won’t begin till September – they stated: sign installation is over 8 days, from Sept 12-21 — then striping of lanes will start Sept 21, and end October 3 (of course, depending no unexpected delays). There will be NO construction (no digging up roads; no new asphalt/overlays). Work will only be done on weekdays.=== I did make sure they knew about the (1) Broadway Modal construction and (2) the 2013 Flood commemorative events.MAIN ST LIGHTING PROJECT: Construction for the lighting project will begin this week along the 300 and 400 blocks. Parking spaces along Main Street may be blocked, along with detours along the sidewalk. Construction is predicted to take three to four weeks but may be subject to change. Please be prepared. From the RFP – “The Town of Lyons, Colorado is requesting proposals to design, construct, and install festoon lighting between 3rd Street and 4th Street on Main Street (a/k/a “300 block”) and provide semi-permanent tree wrap lighting for the mature trees on Main Street from 4th Street to 5th Street (a/k/a “400 block”).”HIGHWAY 7 Andesite Mining Quarry, 70 years old, is being stabilized and restored over the next few years by Boulder County Parks & Open Space. Because of its unique plant and wildlife communities, it is unlikely to be open to the public. It previously belonged to the Hall family, Lyons, and operated as a quarry by Aggregate Industries. Mining ceased in 2008.
